I’m Ann and I have been co-opted to be the currrent president of the PBA having been the first president back in 2018. I have been a PB trainer in the UK since 2001 and am still actively training hundreds of people every year and still absolutely loving it. I use PBs every day, mainly for me and through my language choices, and also with anyone I connect with, however that may be. I see part of my role as being able to elegantly challenge practices and behaviours in organisations and practice that are not Protective Behaviours consistent and are therefore potentially interrupting safety. My professional back-story is nursing, health visiting, teaching and for the last 23 years PBs and education safeguarding, training and supporting education and multi-agency staff. I have written PB materials for parents and curriculum resources for primary children which are used across Warwickshire and further afield. I think one of our most important roles in the PBA is to maintain the integrity of the Protective Behaviours Process as Peg West, Donna Fortin and Di Margetts established and developed it.

I did my first PB training in 1998 in Central Queensland Australia. I became a national Board member of PBA in 2002 and was a member for 3 years. Meeting Di Margetts in 2004 was the highlight of my PB journey, and it was Di that led me here today. I will always be deeply grateful to Di for not only her mentoring and generous heart but for her fearless support of keeping kids and communities safe.

I am a coach and trainer with 30 years’ experience in childcare and family support. I'm an endorsed Protective Behaviors trainer and have delivered the Foundation level course in schools and as an open access course for people from a variety of organisations. I worked in Children’s Centres in Hertfordshire for 12 years and developed a 6 week PBs programme for parents and carers, using the PBs process to support families with relationships and challenging family situations. I now work with teams and individuals on personal and professional development and use PBs in all of my work.

I'm Sally Ann Hart and I'm the Secretary of the PBA having co-founded the Association – I was also one of the founders of PBPeople and the Protective Behaviours Training Partnership. I encountered PBs in 1998 while working for an inclusion service in Northamptonshire, just up the road from where Di Margetts settled in the UK. I was trained by Di from Foundation to Trainer and started to deliver training in 2003. As a result of the pandemic, I have taken my PB training online and love being able to reach a wider audience by-passing the 'Tyranny of Travel' and associated expenses :)

I have over 12 years experience working with Protective Behaviours. I have been a member of the Protective Behaviours Committee Australia ( now ceased) since 2016. I have worked with the former PBA and the former PBWA to change the structure and objectives of the training in Australia to be in line with International Universal training processes. During this time I was fortunate to have been personally mentored and be friended by Di Margetts who helped me to achieve an amazing depth of knowledge, calmness and clarity regarding the importance of Protective behaviours in our lives everyday. I am very thankful for her never ending generosity of knowledge and wisdom.
The last three years I have been working as a director of PB West and a trainer, in alignment with PBI and PB training partnership training standards. Included in my work is the development of several curriculums, a children’s book, a Universal training accompaniment manual and a one day teacher professional learning training workshop and manual

I'm Kate Pordage, a Trainer for last 2 years. I live in Cornwall and work with schools to help build the resilience and emotional wellbeing of children and young people
I first came across PBs back in 2003 / 4 and am delighted to, finally, be preparing to become a trainer. I am particularly interested in PBs and resilience / trauma informed practice and work with YP to help them in their everyday wellbeing & mental health as well helping to equip them with tools and resources for the risks of child exploitation and 'County Lines'.

I'm Kelly Higgs and am a relatively new member of the Protective Behaviours family, having only discovered the magic of PBs in September 2022 when I completed my Foundation Training. However, this initial dipping of my toes in the water led to a deep passion for embedding Protective Behaviours across my Special Needs Setting in Warwick. Beyond my professional interest, I find that PBs resonates with many aspects of my personal life and helps me to navigate more safely challenges that I may be experiencing. My favourite Protective Interruptions are running, often long distances, and baking. I also enjoy writing about my PB reflections on LinkedIn and discussing key aspects with other practitioners.

I'm Joc Rose and I'm currently the PBs Elder on the Council. I encountered PBs in 1991 (or 2 - can't quite remember) when I attended Di Margetts' presentation at Milton Keynes police station. On that occasion a lightbulb went on over my head which has never gone out since (must be an LED), and though I'm retired now and no longer professionally involved with PBs I still use the process all the time.
